our creative process

A photography brief helps establish the core and creative objectives for your event. After an initial consultation, we will send you a custom brief describing our suggestions for first, second and third priority coverage.

  1. The first priority is typically the management or presenters team as individuals and as groups ; featured in ways that show active participation and involvement in the proceedings. This usually includes a group portrait photographed with studio lighting against the organization backdrop, candids, presentations, speakers, panel members at the top table, people at the head table, people at the lectern (podium mic), and other microphones.
  2. The second priority usually includes audience members asking questions during Q & A, audience members listening intently, taking notes, enjoying meal / socializing, laughter, smiles.
  3. Third priority coverage can be room layout and environmental and the production team & support staff performing their duties

after you sign off on the brief, we proceed to assign the photography team. Standard continuous event coverage is provided by a lead photographer and an secondary photographer.

our style

we aim for a photojournalistic style approach that includes:

  • limited depth of field selective focus with large apertures, long lenses (85mm minimum focal length), and strong bokeh.
  • wideangle, Extreme Wideangle of the venue and set-up
  • extreme angles (camera on poles/monopods) and floor shots

use is made of existing light and flash and flash fill where applicable (if permitted). Studio lighting is used as appropriate for group portraits.

delivery of photos

our standard service includes in-camera 3:2 cropped images as JPEG fine, image size Large. Edited images are made available for download within three days of shoot. Need faster service ? Just ask!
